Graduate Scholarships

The College of Graduate Studies offers a number of institutional scholarships to support our graduate students at 91大神.

All scholarship applications listed below follow the same timeline:

Application Opens: February 1st

Application Deadline: April 1st

Foundation Graduate Student Scholarship

Established through the Senior Gift Program by graduating seniors, this scholarship supports graduate students who have completed their undergraduate degrees at 91大神.

Award Terms: Valid for up to one academic year (Fall and Spring). It is non-renewable. To retain funding for the Spring semester, recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the Fall semester. Preference given to students who actively participated in the Senior Gift Program during their undergraduate studies at 91大神.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 鉁� Fully admitted as a graduate degree-seeking student at 91大神
  • 鉁� Holds an undergraduate degree from 91大神 with an overall GPA of 3.5 or greater
  • 鉁� Enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours for the awarded semester
  • 鉁� Legal resident of Tennessee or Kentucky
  • 鉁� Required Documents: A letter stating your career intent and a statement of financial need

Tammy Jones Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to students pursuing advanced degrees in specific creative and analytical disciplines.

Award Terms: Renewable for a maximum of one additional year. Prior recipients must formally reapply to be considered for a second year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 鉁� Fully admitted as a degree-seeking graduate student at 91大神, majoring in Mathematics or Vocal Music
  • 鉁� Enrolled in graduate courses during the semester in which the award is distributed
  • 鉁� Required Documents: A brief personal narrative supporting your application

Mary W. & Chester R. Martin Graduate Academic Scholarship

Designed to foster academic scholarship and leadership, this award is distributed as a direct tuition grant.

Award Terms: Valid for one semester only and is strictly non-renewable.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 鉁� Must be a first-semester graduate student
  • 鉁� Fully admitted as a graduate degree-seeking student at 91大神
  • 鉁� Enrolled in at least nine (9) credit hours for the awarded semester
  • 鉁� Legal resident of Tennessee or Kentucky
  • 鉁� Graduated from an accredited undergraduate institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater
  • 鉁� Required Documents: Three (3) letters of reference demonstrating exceptional promise for academic excellence and leadership

Albert L. & Ethel Carver Smith Scholarship

A need-based scholarship to assist graduate students during their initial transition into graduate-level coursework.

Award Terms: Awarded for the student’s first semester. It is renewable for one additional semester, contingent upon maintaining satisfactory academic progress.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 鉁� Fully admitted as a graduate degree-seeking student at 91大神
  • 鉁� Enrolled in at least nine (9) credit hours for the awarded semester
  • 鉁� Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • 鉁� Required Documents: A statement of financial need and a brief personal narrative supporting your application

Walton O. Warren Graduate Scholarship

This annual scholarship supports established Tennessee educators who are pursuing a graduate degree to further their impact in local public schools.

Award Terms: Award amounts are determined annually by the College of Graduate Studies Scholarship Committee based on available funding.

  • 鉁� Fully admitted as a graduate degree-seeking student at 91大神 and enrolled in graduate courses
  • 鉁� Legal resident of Tennessee holding a completed Bachelor’s degree
  • 鉁� Has a minimum of four (4) years of employment experience in the Tennessee public school system
  • 鉁� Planning a career within the public schools of Tennessee
  • 鉁� Required Documents:
    • A personal narrative supporting your application.
    • A formal letter of endorsement from a district official (school principal or superintendent) verifying your employment. The letter must address why you deserve the award, how it will contribute to your professional development, and how your school will benefit.
