The Microbiology concentration of the Biology B.S. degree will be of interest to students who want to learn more about microbes, including viruses, bacteria, fungi, and protists. Students in the Microbiology concentration will learn about the unique features of microbes, how to grow and identify microbes, and the impact of microbes on the health of humans and the environment. The tools of microbiologists include microscopy, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques.
