The compliance audit for our聽reaffirmation of accreditation by聽the Southern聽Association聽of Colleges聽and Schools聽Commission on聽Colleges (SACSCOC) will be submitted聽in the coming weeks.
Importantly, the development of our聽new Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP),聽as part of the reaccreditation process,聽is well underway. The plan, branded聽MT Engage鈥攚hich was announced聽in the fall 2014鈥攚ill continue to be聽developed over the course of this聽fiscal year.
MT Engage focuses on providing聽professional development to faculty聽that helps infuse existing courses with聽high-impact, engaging pedagogy. The聽intended result is an increased ability聽by our students to use integrative and聽reflective thinking, to enhance student聽academic engagement, to foster a聽University-wide culture of engaged聽learning, and, in the end, to improve聽student retention and graduation.
I encourage each of you to read the聽draft of the plan and make suggestions聽so that we can produce the best QEP聽possible. Representatives of the聽SACSCOC will visit our campus in聽March 2016 to review our compliance聽audit and our QEP. We will then fully聽launch MT Engage in fall 2016.
I want to thank the faculty, staff, and聽administrators who are serving on the聽committee to accomplish these goals.聽I also wish to thank those who have聽provided feedback and who attended聽the open forums this past spring. Your聽input and participation in the MT Engage聽program are vital to its success.
