Please know that faculty training, resources, and support remain our top priorities as we prepare to migrate courses to Canvas. As you will see, much of what I describe below reflects these&nbsp;priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As you may already know, I will serve as the primary point of contact for faculty throughout the Canvas implementation. Dr. Trey Martindale (Associate Vice Provost for Online Learning) will also play an important leadership role throughout this work, and you may exchange messages with other implementation team members at one point or another. But I encourage you to please contact me or Trey if you have questions or other discussion items. We\u2019re happy to help, listen, and\/or learn.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please take a few minutes to review the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/canvas\/\">\u00a0Canvas transition website<\/a>, including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/canvas\/timeline\/\">timelines<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/canvas\/faqs\/\">FAQs<\/a>, and valuable\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/canvas\/resources\/\">training resources<\/a>. In short, Canvas will support all Summer and Fall 2026 courses at 91΄σΙρ, and our team will work with a small group of early adopters for Spring 2026. If you have other questions that you\u2019d like to suggest for the FAQs, please\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.cloud.microsoft\/r\/ubEUjhHtmm\">let us know<\/a>!<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I\u2019m finalizing a list of Canvas Champions for each academic college. These colleagues will serve as college points of contact for Canvas questions, support, and training. I\u2019ll include that list of colleagues as part of my next e-mail update, and they will be ready to assist soon.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Center for Teaching &amp; Mentoring will serve as the Canvas training hub\u00a0throughout and following our LMS implementation, and\u00a0I\u2019m happy to announce multiple upcoming training dates in early October!!! These blended (on-ground and remote) sessions will provide faculty with a first look at Canvas, along with an introduction to basic\u00a0Canvas functionality. Visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ctm.mtsu.edu\/canvas\/\">Canvas training page<\/a>\u00a0for more information.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I\u2019ve scheduled a\u00a0<strong>Canvas Update &amp; Discussion Session for Monday, 9\/29, from 2-3 PM<\/strong>\u00a0for faculty who would like to hear more about the Canvas implementation. This will include a general update of where we\u2019ve been and where we are going, followed by some time dedicated to Q&amp;A. We\u2019ll conduct this via Zoom, which you can access\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mtsu.zoom.us\/j\/2430955183?omn=84035747403\">here<\/a>. If you have a question that you\u2019d like to pose for this session, feel free to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.cloud.microsoft\/r\/ubEUjhHtmm\">submit it in advance<\/a>\u00a0today!<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally, what can faculty do&nbsp;<strong>today<\/strong>&nbsp;to prepare for Canvas?&nbsp;Well, a lot, actually. I encourage you to access the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Canvas-Instructor\/ct-p\/canvas_instructor\">Canvas Instructor<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/Instructor-Getting-Started-Resources\/ta-p\/579378\">\u201cGetting Started\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;sites for a variety of faculty resources. You can also complete this self-paced&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canvas.net\/courses\/canvas-basics-badge\">Canvas Basics course<\/a>&nbsp;(with badge), or this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/learning\/learning-canvas-2022\/create-and-manage-courses-with-canvas?resume=false&amp;u=36452436\">Learning Canvas course<\/a>&nbsp;from LinkedIn Learning. There is also this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLit_70db88TTVKUlrn-xdwO02QtVN5JzP\">Canvas playlist<\/a>&nbsp;on YouTube, which covers a range of topics, features, and operations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Canvas is a collaborative project involving Academic Affairs and the 91΄σΙρ Information Technology Division.
